Keep Joe Buck and Tim McCarver Off the Air

Baseball announcers should be fair and unbiased when making the call of the game. They should also be an enjoyable aside to the baseball game. At no point should an announcer consider themselves as above or more important than the game they are calling, nor should an announcer show preference towards either team on the field. By following these 2 simple rules, the announcers can be both informative and enjoyable.

Joe Buck and Tim McCarver do not hold the basic qualities listed above. Tim McCarver goes on for innings and innings making painfully obvious points, and acts as though we should all be on our knees thanking him for deigning to share his blessed baseball wisdom with us. Joe Buck has a special knack for making pointless moments melodramatic, and significant moments mundane. Every Derek Jeter play to the hole is "the spectatular sort of play he's been making all year", while he might have been in a coma during Aaron Boone's walkoff home run last ALCS.

Please keep these two out of the booth. Joe Buck is not a great announcer like his father, and should stop living that lie. Tim McCarver needs to get over the fact that he was a mediocre player who didn't know how to hang it up until he finished his 21 year career in the middle of the 1980 season.
