Lead By Example

We the undersigned demand that Members of Parliament should Lead By Example by bringing their own pensions in line with that of other public sector workers. Currently MPs receive one 40th of their salary as a pension per year whereas the majority of other public sector workers receive 60th of their salary. If an MP dies in service their partner receives four times their annual basic salary whereas partners of other public sector workers receive three times their basic salary. Finally, MPs should scrap the tax free resettlement grant which they automatically receive upon leaving Parliament which is current a minimum of £32,869 or more depending on their length of service.
