We, the undersigned, wish to set before you this petition on behalf of our good friend Capt Mark Smith, a sea faring man of whom you are certainly well acquainted. It is our understanding that you are thinking that you need another bright star to illuminate the heavens. However, we were thinking that here on earth, we were in dire need of more humor, love, compassion, intelligence, wit, responsibility and overall humanity.
So, if you would be so kind as to share Capt Mark with us here on earth just a little longer, we would be eternally grateful for your generosity. We certainly understand that we cannot keep him forever, but just a little longer, God, please.
