Honorable Members of the Council of St. Clements;
This petition is in regards to the new By-law number 8-2004 proposal put forward by the Council of St. Clements. In this proposal, Council wishes to abolish firearms within the area they refer to as Parcel 1.
We, the landowners and or visitors in the area of Parcel 1 and wish to use firearms, feel that the proposed by-law be latered in such manner:
Parcel 1, covering the area that you wish to close to firearms, should be altered to include Shotgun, Muzzle Loader, Rim Fire and Archery but delete the use of High Powered Center Fire Rifles. The area in question is not as densely populated and the landowner should be able to make the decision on his or her own land. There are many landowners that wish to hunt Waterfowl, upland game birds, rabbits, deer, etc. on their property. For those who wish to target shoot the use of a Muzzle Loader, Shotgun, Rim fire, Air gun or Archery in Parcel 1 will be safely accommodated. The area could be posted to indicate the desire of the landowner as well as having the existing laws enforced to deter those who would wish to break the law.
By passing the proposal as it currently exits, it would remove the right of the landowner on their own land.

This is just another way to try to crush gun ownership in canada, this is the first step in the so called gun free zones. if this does go through were will it stop. the old saying will come into play you can own guns but you just can't use then anywhere.
