Mandatory DNA of Popular Stud Dogs.

A "Frequently Used Sire" would be considered a dog producing seven or more litters in a lifetime or producing more than three litters in a calendar year. We would like to request UKC to require Mandatory DNA Profiling on such dogs. These DNA profiles will be used for genetic identity and for parentage verification, and, thus, will be used to advance issues relating to the integrity of the registry.
It has recently come to light that several breeders have used false paperwork on stud dogs, while we cannot change the past we can look to improve the future of our breeds by trying to minimize future "mistakes".
I personally would also like to see this rule go in effect for "Frequently Used Dams" as well, if they whelp more than 4 litters in a lifetime.
Falsified paperwork does not just effect the owners of the puppies but can in effect harm the breed by not knowing what those dogs might carry genetically. In a breeding program it is important to know the history behind your breeding stock, if someone has faslified the papers you are in the dark and never know what to expect.
