Metro Council

Many people in Metro Louisville have expressed extreme concern over some of Mayor Jerry Abramson's and Metro Council's decisions over the past few years. We humbly request that the process for legislation in Metro Louisville be changed as follows:

Metro Council shall still have power to create and vote for new legislation. Before any new legislation shall be enacted, however, it must also be voted on and passed or rejected by the people of Metro Louisville as follows: If a piece of legislation will be enacted in seventy-five percent or less of all voting districts, then the legislation in question shall be voted on in the districts it affects only. If a piece of legislation will be enacted in more than seventy-five percent of all voting districts, then the entire population of Metro Louisville shall vote on the legislation in question.

This measure shall be either passed or rejected by method of popular vote by the entire population of Metro Louisville and shall be ratified immediately upon passage by the people of Metro Louisville.
