Moorcroft, WY Horse Abuse

This petition is to help the situation facing numerous horses in Moorcroft, WY. In the last month it was discovered that 100 + horses under possession of owner Susan Rose were to be in various stages of starvation and death. Between 5-22 were dead by the time local authorities took action.
Now the owner had been ordered to remove all but 40 horses (a number thought reasonable by local law enforcement agencies), claiming the situation was under control.
This petition is to show the state of Wyoming that animal lovers throughout the US are outraged at the callous disregard for life by the "authorities" handling this case. More than a week after the Brand Inspectors Board took control there have been at least three confirmed deaths. She is allowed to keep these horses as "breeding stock." Soon the numbers will be repopulated and WY tax payers will be spending their money to pay the Brand Inspectors and State Veterinarians to take less than appropriate action again and more horses will die.
No veterinarian was called to the scene until nearly two weeks after the initial complaints were made. After several horses had already died under the "careful watch" of WY Brand Inspectors. They found the situation to be "under control" as well. "Under control" while helpless horses are losing their lives to something as simple as lack of food and water.
A horse was found in a cattle squeeze chute where he had been for days with a broken leg. "Dakota" had no food or water and was out in the elements. He was left by law enforcement officers. They failed this little horse miserably. "Dakota" is now dead.
These horses are out on open ground. No shelter, no grass, and a very poor water source that is filled with feces.
This is absolutely horrific and unsatisfactory to any person of sound moral standing, not to mention any person who has ever appropriately cared for an animal. In signing this petition you are telling the Wyoming Livestock Board, State Veterinarian, Assistant State Veterinarian, Law Enforcement Supervisors, Cruelty Investigators, and Crook County Sheriff's Department that we are not willing to stand for such state officials taking such a lack of action. What they are doing is not sufficient.
All of Susie Rose's animals need to be removed immediately and indefinitely. Criminal charges to the full extent of the law need to be pursued against Susan Rose. She can face several months in jail and a large fine for each case of cruelty. This is far less than the price her horses paid. Please support the action to save the horses of Moorcroft. Thank you.
