Overturn California's Proposition 21 And Save Charles Andy Williams

Our coalition is committed to overturning proposition 21, which requires youth over the age of 14 to be tried as adults for certain crimes, regardless of the circumstances. This proposition removes the rights of children to have the court review the circumstances of each individual case, and automatically requires every child over 14 to be tried as an adult for adult crimes. Laws say children under 16 1/2 cannot vote, they cannot drive, they can't drink alcohol, or smoke cigarettes...and the reason for this is because they aren't mature enough to handle such responsibilities. How then... can this law require those same children to be tried as adults. Proposition 21 contradicts the many laws that we have set in place regarding the responsibilities and maturity of children. Proposition 21 is wrong and must be overturned.
"The Charles Andy Williams" coalition of hundreds of dedicated members is committed to overturning this cold hearted law because his special circumstances of a lifetime of abuse and hardship has put the spotlight on the just how wrong this proposition is. The circumstances of Charles Andy Williams' history should warrant that he be tried as a juvenile, yet proposition 21 takes away his right for his history to be considered. This law is unconstitutional. This law is hurting children by "throwing them away." This law is wrong, and we are outraged. Sign this petition to overturn proposition 21 and to help Charles Andy Williams get a fair trial as a juvenile in the California court system. We suggest you visit our website for more important information regarding this issue. Then, after signing this petition, please write letters of opposition to having Andy Williams tried as an adult.
