Petition against custom content downloading in Team Fortress 2

Have you ever gone into a server and had to start downloading the Admin you never knew's custom made hat? Not only does it affect your TF2 files, but sometimes it's impossible to hit the cancel button in time.

Browse through your TF Folder and each sub-folder. I didn't know TF2 came with a Pedobear hat or the Quake sound effects! It doesn't. You should have been asked if these were to be downloaded on your computer. Files on your computer that you both dislike and didn't have a choice on whether they should be downloaded. Sounds like a virus right?

The multiplayer option to prevent downloads only goes so far, if you want to download a custom map you also have to download the rest of that useless junk. You should only download these addons when you know you want them (say if you were playing tf2ware, that requires them.) Staying on one server also isn't that fun, some of us dislike having to play on the same server over and over again.

Solution 2: Like I said, some maps need custom sounds and models to run. You probably know what you are doing when going to a server that runs a map that needs customs. If the developer hasn't programmed the custom content in the map and you still refuse TOO BAD FOR THEM.
