This petition has been created to ensure that veterans families, veterans, and reserve forces do not have their benefits cut. We do not support the actions called for by David Chu, under secretary of defense for personnel and readiness and Rep. Mark Steven Kirk, R-Ill.
We do not want to see the same situation created again that we saw during the Vietnam Era. We don't want "assembly line training and deployment" of an inexperienced military or the enormous "body bag count" we experienced during that era.
Cutting benefits for our veterans families, veterans, and reserve forces will cause many young men and women to leave the military. It will also lead to decreased voluntary enlistment. This will eventually lead to the "draft." Our military will no longer be the powerful, well trained force it is today. Moral will suffer greatly.
We will again find ourselves with an enormous number of our veterans unable to work and living on the streets because they cannot get the care they need. We find this unacceptable.
The War on Terror will be a long protracted war. We have already experienced a great many deaths. The numbers of the injured and disabled are climbing. But all these tolls will increse at a dramatically higher rate if we are forced to start the Draft again because we do not offer proper incentive to encourage voluntary enlistment to continue.
Therefore we urge the Congress to not cut back on benefits for our veterans families, veterans, or reserve forces.

I can't believe the nerve. Why don't they cut the benifits of the guys who sit at a desk all day (our government,what risks are they taking?) not the guys who are out there risking their lives and the unity of their family, for us.
