Queenstown Skate Park Upgrade
Background:
Young people from the Wakatipu region have identified that they would like some upgrades made to the Queenstown Skate Park so they can make full use of the park and bowl.
It is currently designed for advanced skaters and few opportunities exist to build on their skills to transition to the current more challenging features. With the right additions to the skate park, Queenstown could produce some outstanding competitive skaters and a better all round facility for the community.
The upgrade wish list includes:
• 4ft/5ft spine mini-ramp
• Fill in the left third of the Euro gap
• Remove jersey barrier facing Euro gap and replace with quarter pipe or flatback
• Flowerbed by the top of the three stairs, garden side – turn into a ledge
• Lighting
• Partial roofing
