Hudawi Cultural Centre,Raystreet, Huddersfield is widely used by the Community of Huddersfield.Seeing women walking up and down Raystreet of Huddersfield and standing on the street corners is not a good thing to see on a late afternoon. myself and my children and other parents and thier children have attend many events at a Hudawi and have seen children giggle at the women.
Raystreet is used daily by mothers and thier children as we have schools in the area and shops. Also young people use Raystreet as a short cut to get to town centre, down to leeds road to the shops, the playing fields, the UCI, the Staduim, to the sports centre and on thier way home to and from school or thier friends either a lone or with friends.
As a parent how would you like to know that your child who chooses to travel along Raystreet to get to thier destination was troubled by cars driving slowly and male heads peering out the window, it has happened to me so it can happen to your child and people generally should not have to avoid walking down the path of Raystreet.
I would appreciate your support in getting Kirklees Council in doing something to make Raystreet a safer place to walk.My suggestion is to have gates in operation, and the road closed off from late afternoon.
