Removal of Barry Collier as Head Men's Basketball Coach at the University of Nebraska

We, the undersigned, do hereby petition one Steve Pedersen, Athletic Director for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and one Marc Boehm, Executive Associate Athletic Director and primary administrator for the basketball programs, to remove Barry Collier from his responsibilities as head men's basketball coach for the University of Nebraska team.

Whereas, Barry Collier has yet to prove he can successfully coach a team at the level required to be competitive in the Big 12, achieving an average of only 5.5 conference wins per season through his first four seasons, and

Whereas, Barry Collier has had only one winning season and one NIT trip in his first 4 years as head coach, and

Whereas, Barry Collier has had two seasons of his own recruiting classes and has yet to finish in the top half of the Big 12 Conference, and

Whereas, Barry Collier has yet to beat in-state rival Creighton in regular season play, and has beaten them only once in 6 tries, and

Whereas, with four games remaining in the season, it appears that Nebraska will again struggle to achieve a .500 record, struggle to finish outside the bottom one-fourth of the league, and struggle to be invited to post-season play, while post-season play was common under former head coach Danny Nee.

Therefore, we believe it is time to change the leadership of this team by removing Barry Collier as head coach of the University of Nebraska Men's Basketball program.
