With respect to the Ontario Government’s Green Energy Act (2010), we the undersigned, have serious concerns regarding the negative impact of the Act on Ontario’s people, economy, environment and wildlife.
Therefore, we the undersign request that a private member’s bill be introduced and passed by the PC and NDP parties with the following provisions:
That:
The Green Energy Act to be repealed immediately.
That:
The construction of all Wind and Solar farms be halted immediately. The Liberal Government has proven in the past that canceling contracts is not an issue as demonstrated with the halt of the gas plants in Mississauga and Oakville.
That:
All recommendations, past or present, from the Premiere’s Climate Change Advisory Panel and Ontario Green Energy Task Group be rescinded and all members be released from service immediately.
That:
A new Clean Energy Act be enacted;
Whereas; new members are assigned representing a balance from the engineering, energy, economic and business sectors. That each member is scrutinized by an independent tribunal, approved by the Ontario Auditor General, to ensure no conflict of interest and that no member will personally benefit financially directly, or indirectly, from the recommendations of the panel and;
Whereas; the key goal of the Energy Review and Advisory Panel is to review Ontario’s current and future energy fuel needs, and determine the best use of energy fuel resources with consideration for consumer costs, the people of Ontario, the economy, and the environment.
That:
Those who live proximate to Wind Farms be given a voice regarding issues that may negatively impact them, and that an independent tribunal, approved by the Ontario Auditor General, be established to compensate those with health problems or drop in land values due to their proximity to Wind Farms.
That:
The Auditor General performs an audit to determine and publicly publish all costs and receivers of funds in relation to the current the Green Energy Act.
