Retire #19, October 2006

We, the worldwide fans, request that the Detroit Red Wings organization officially retire and raise the banner for #19, Steve Yzerman, at the 2006 home-opener,October 2006, in order to set a tone of optimism for the season and the future of the club, and to boost the morale of the fans by allowing them to pay personal tribute to the passing of the Yzerman era in Red Wings hockey.
