Dear Sirs:

We are writing to you about an extremely serious matter. It is potentially a matter of life or death, but it also has implications more important than that. This is an issue that could play a pivotal role in the future survival or destruction of our country, and all the freedom that it represents.

We are writing to you about Rick Stanley of Denver. He has been unjustly accused of violating ordinances in Denver and Thornton for carrying a gun within the city limits. He is unjustly accused because Rick has an unalienable right to "keep and bear arms" that is protected by both the Second Amendment and the Colorado constitution.

We are asking you to grant him a gubernatorial "pardon", which is a misleading phrase in this instance. What we are really asking you to do is to honor your oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution. We are asking you to recognize Mr. Stanley's unalienable RIGHTS, including his right to "keep and bear arms" for the purpose of self-defense.

The Declaration of Independence says, "When any form of government becomes
destructive of [our rights], it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it."

AMENDMENT II
(1791)
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Please do not allow two municipalities within Colorado to become destructive of Rick Stanley's rights. Please enforce the principles of Constitutional law by preventing Denver and Thornton from issuing bench warrants for his arrest. We would appreciate a written response from you acknowledging receipt of this letter, and outlining your plans to resolve this issue.

We have many people who are eager to hear what you have to say. Please know that many Americans will be watching this situation very closely. We will report the events to the rest of the world, whether or not the local media is willing to mention it.
