Dear Eddie Rocket's Diner Management,
This petition has been created in response to recent speculation and suggestion from internal sources in Eddie Rockets that the Club Sandwich is due to be removed from your menu.
Whilst the desire to update the contents of the menu from time to time is understandable, the removal of such a pivotal and delectable item from the menu would, we feel, be detrimental to the lasting sustainability of your business and the Irish Economy in general.
The Club Sandwich, with it's seared chicken breast, gently melted cheese, crispy bacon, lush, green lettuce, succulent tomato and smooth, creamy mayonaise has become a staple part of the Irish diet (in much the same way as potatoes were prior to the Great Irish Famine of 1845-1852).
Undoubtedly, the demise of the Club Sandwich will once again lead to mass starvation, disease and emigration, which, in this time of recession, would have detrimental effects to economic recovery.
Therefore, we ask:
1) That you seriously revise the decision to remove the club sandwich from your menu.
2) If it is essential that an item is to be removed; that something rubbish (such as Garlic Mushrooms or Hamburger in a Bowl) be removed instead.
3) Written confirmation that the Club Sandwich will never be removed (or altered in any way) from your menu.
4) Written request to the Pope, requesting an 11th commandment be added, stating "Thou shalt always have a Club Sandwich available on any Eddie Rockets menu".
