Say "Niet" to a coalition with Liberman אומרים "נייט" לקואליציה עם ליברמן

אנו, חברי תא הסטודנטים של מפלגת העבודה באוניברסיטת בן גוריון, אשר פעלנו רבות להצלחתה של המפלגה ושל העומד בראשה בבחירות האחרונות, מוצאים לנכון להביע את מחאתינו נוכח האפשרות כי מפלגת העבודה תחבור לקואליציה בשיתוף עם מפלגת "ישראל ביתנו".

אביגדור ליברמן, ראש המפלגה, אשר ביסס את מעמדו על סמך רעיונות גזעניים והתבטאויות נגד שלטון החוק, אינו ראוי לכהן בממשלה המבקשת לקדם רעיונות של צדק חברתי ולחתור להסדר עם הפלסטינים. ליברמן מהווה סכנה אמיתית לדמוקרטיה הישראלית, ולא ייתכן כי מפלגת העבודה, האמונה על הרעיון הדמוקרטי, ומחייבת את שלטון החוק, תוותר על עקרונותיה בעבור נזיד העדשים הדלוח הזה.

יתר על כן, חבירה לישראל ביתנו, הנוגדת את השקפת עולמה של מפלגת העבודה, תוביל ליצירת קואליציה בלתי יציבה, אשר לא תצליח להוציא מן הכוח אל הפועל את מטרותינו החברתיות והמדיניות, ותדרדר במהרה לבחירות חוזרות.

אנו מאמינים במצע החברתי-מדיני של מפלגת העבודה ושל העומד בראשה, ומקווים כי המפלגה תיוותר נאמנה לרעיונות שבשמם נבחרה, ותוביל ליצירת קואליציה יציבה, המחויבת לעקרונות הדמוקרטיה הישראלית.

As students and "Avoda" (Labor) party members in "Ben-Gurion" university, who worked profoundly for its success in the recent elections, we resent the possibility of joining a coalition joint by the right-winged extremist party "Israel Beitenu" led by Avigdor Liberman.

Liberman, who built his political status relying on racial issues and remarks against our country's democratic laws, is not worthy of being a part of a government which aspires to promote social justice and a peaceful solution to the Palestinian problem.
Liberman poses a genuine threat to the Israeli democracy; therefore, there is no excuse for the "Avoda" party to put aside its ideals in order to join a governing coalition joint by Liberman and his party.

Moreover, accepting "Israel Beitenu" as part of the coalition could result in the establishment of an unstable government that would not be able to accomplish the "Avoda's" social and foreign goals and would eventually lead to new elections in the near future.

We believe in the social and foreign policies by which the "Avoda" party and its leader, Amir Peretz, stand for, and hope that our party will remain loyal to these ideals, by which it was elected to the parliament. We wish that it would lead to the establishment of a stable coalition, determined to preserve the principles of the Israeli democracy.
