This petition is initiated by a concerned graduate student, who sees OPIRG Toronto as a an organization that uses the funding it collects through University of Toronto student union through student levy to support, financially and otherwise, radical movements/organizations (such as the COMMUNIST STUDENT RESEARCH GROUP and the STUDENTS AGAINST ISRAELI APARTHEID) and does not properly represent the interests of graduate students (no graduate students on the board of OPIRG Toronto). YOU are automatically opted-in as a member of OPIRG through UTSU or GSU, and contribute $5 to this organization and the causes it then supports. YOU should also be aware that the levy is fully refundable, but the process is poorly advertised. Prevent your hard-earned money from supporting radical causes!
