WHEREAS: Much of this money goes to funding academic and co-curricular programs essential to our educational experience as students, and paramount to our success and viability in the state, national, and international job market;
WHEREAS: Corzines own platform cited a brain-drain and lack of efficiency in higher education , and it is recognized that cutting funds to both public and private schools will place a major impact on the recruiting of in and out of state intellectual students;
WHEREAS: Forced cuts to Seton Hall University already impact overall finances for all students, and could result in a loss of over $2 million dollars to academic, financial, and co-curricular programs;
WHEREAS: The only way to combat such a problem would be a 6\% or higher tuition hike, forcing more students to seek other options outside of Seton Hall and New Jersey;
BE IT RESOLVED: We, the student body of Seton Hall University, and those that value the quality of our education, do hereby proclaim our stance to the Governor, the legislature, and the entire state of New Jersey;
BE IT RESOLVED: The legislature, in its budget approval vote of early June, shall reallocate funding to compensate the devastating detraction from the higher education allotment to both public and private universities and colleges.
