We the undersigned believe that the current state of services for people affected by Acquired Brain Injury is unacceptable. The lack of specialised services for people across Ireland along with the poor range of care for those affected by brain injury requires urgent action by the government.
We are asking for an increased range of services supported by a comprehensive rehabilitation strategy including:
* Funding for a brain injury awareness and prevention campaign
* A specialised brain injury education programme for all schools including road safety
* Community based services for children with brain injury as none currently exist
* On-going support in the community for people affected by brain injury
* More services for people affected by brain injury in rural areas
* Increased respite for people with a brain injury and their families
