Stop Invasive Security Procedures on Kids

Please stop using Advanced Imaging Technology and enhanced pat-down procedures on children. Children should not have to undergo repeated radiation exposure or the mandated groping by strangers in order to board a flight. A recent video of a three-year-old yelling, Quit touching me! as a security guard feels her body is chilling. The Fourth Amendment prohibits such unreasonable searches, and these procedures should only be used if red flags are raised during the regular security check.
Medical doctors from the University of California at San Francisco have raised concerns that the machines havent been adequately tested and may be emitting unsafe doses of radiation to the skin. Shockingly, the scanners have not been rigorously tested by independent committees; they were deemed safe by The National Standards Institute, a committee whose members include representatives of the companies that make the machines as well as employees of the Department of Homeland Security! A self-interested lobby, rather than one with the nations interests solely at heart, had a hand in promoting these invasive machines.
We know that there may be threats when we fly, and we want to protect our children foremost, but if the TSAs answer to terrorism is to require a three-year-old girl to be touched against her will by a stranger, then our country has problems far more pervasive than terrorism.
