Ndjehem e tronditur se, per kete gje tл tillл janл pлrdorur ende praktikat mл mizore nл Shqipлri, njл vend qл dлshiron tл jetл plotлsisht pjesл e Bashkimit Evropian. Kjo nuk лshtл mлnyra, z. Framur Bime, pлr tл ndihmuar Shqipлrinл nл procesin e integrimit.

Gjirokastra duhet te njihet boterisht per trashegimine e bukur dhe per mikpritjen e qytetareve te saj, dhe jo per praktikat e egra te vrasjes qe kryen. Veprimet tuaja janл tл njohura dhe njerлz nga e gjithл bota janл skanzalizuar.. Unл nuk bien dakord pлr tл ardhur nл Gjirokastлr deri sa te hiqen praktikat e perdorura deri me sot. Ndihem e turpлruar dhe e dekurajuar te shoh se,udhлheqsлve shqiptarл u mungon respektimi mл themelor pлr jetлn.

Dear Mayor of Gjirokastлr

I have learned that you have authorised a massive killing of stray dogs.

I feel horrified that such a cruel practices are still used in Albania, a country that wants to be fully part of the European Union. This is not the way, Mr. Framur Bime, to help Albania in its integration process.

These massive killing will not even help to get rid of stray dogs. As you know, dogs are territorial and if a territory is left without its canine inhabitants, the neighbouring packs will immediately occupy it. So, are you planning to keep on killing? Is this the image you want for Gjirokastлr, a city declared UNESCO World Heritage Site? If there are stray dogs it is because there are no shelters for them. This is where you, as Mayor of Gjirokastлr, should invest the money.

Gjirokastлr should be known world wide by the beautiful Heritage and by the hospitality of its citizens, not by the cruel killing practices that it carries out. Your actions are known and people from all around the world are scandalized. I feel ashamed and discouraged to see that Albanian leaders are lacking of the most basic respect for life. I pledge not to come to Gjirokastлr until such a practices are abolished.

I will recall what one of the greatest political leaders and Nobel prize has said: "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated (Mahatma Gandhi)".
