Stop the RTA changing the system for modifying cars.

The RTA is bringing in a new scheme to "regulate" modifications on cars. Basically they want everyone to get an engineers certificate for alot of mods to our vehicles. this includes any engine work that increases performance in any way, changes emissions from standard in any way etc. Any mod that is already meant to have a certificate will be even harder to certify, you will have to pass harsh guidelines to pass. I would imagine this also applies to things like lowered suspension, bigger exhaust systems, larger wheels, possibly bodykits. We all know the RTA would rather get rid of modified cars altogether so it looks like this is their stepping stone to that. All this could be implemented as early as September 30, which is ridiculous as it is such short notice. This will also apply to mods already in your car before this all gets finalized, so anyone with mods already will need a certificate which you will have to pay to get done. This is an outrage and basically violates our freedom to do what we love with our pride and joys, which should never be regulated this far. Please sign this petition so i can pass it on to a group that is rallying against this and hopefully stop this madness before our love for modified cars is stomped on. Also if you have any comments you wish to put forward that will be read to a committee about this please visit www.confederationofmotorclubs.org.au and visit the contact section, post links to this petition if you like. please sign and share as much as possible to all your friends and family. 5000 is the goal here but any more would be great.
