We, the undersigned, as fans of great rock and roll music, call for the induction of Three Dog Night into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Three Dog Night's contribution to rock spans over 35 years and from 1969-1974 nobody had more Top 10 hits, moved more records, or sold more concert tickets. During this period Three Dog Night was undoubtedly the most popular band in America: twenty-one consecutive Top 40 hits, eighteen straight Top 20s, eleven Top 10s, seven number 1s, seven million-selling singles and twelve straight gold LPs. By late '75, they had sold nearly 50 million records. Some of their hits include "One", "Joy to the World", "Mama Told Me Not To Come", "Shambala" and "Easy To Be Hard". At the height of their career the band consisted of members Chuck Negron-vocals, Danny Hutton-vocals, Cory Wells-vocals, Jimmy Greenspoon-keyboards, Michael Allsup-guitar, Joe Schermie-bass, and Floyd Sneed-percussion. This lineup produced the majority of their hits. In March 2002, Joe Schermie passed away in Los Angeles, CA never getting to see the induction of the band he helped to create.
