Toowoomba is the 2nd largest inland city and the largest non capital inland city yet we cannot get E85 at a pump in Toowoomba!
E85 is more economical, environmentally friendlier and better for our performance cars than regular or high octane premium fuel. E85 from United Fuels is manufactured at their Dalby refinery, less than an hour away from Toowoomba and is only available in Warwick via pump. Why is is so hard to put a pump in Toowoomba? Caltex has E85 pumps in Ipswich and Brisbane.
V8 Supercars switched to E85 in 2009 and reported better performance and less emissions. You can now buy Holden Commodores from factory that can run E85, surely Holden in Toowoomba are not selling many of these models with the lack of an E85 fuel source in Toowoomba!
With owning a performance workshop in Toowoomba and approx 75% of our customers preferring to run E85, the only option is for them to do a fuel run to Ipswich or Warwick, fill their cars tanks as well as as many jerry cans they can fit in their car with E85. Having an E85 pump in Toowoomba would make these trips redundant.
Signing this petition and sharing with your friends will see if there is a need for an E85 pump in Toowoomba. Results will then be forwarded to United Fuels and Caltex for their response.
