U.S. Citizens dedicated to save the U.S. Postal Service

We, the undersigned, state that it is up to us as ordinary citizens of the United States to help save the U.S. Postal Service. While we acknowledge the speed and instant relief of electronic mail (e-mail), we believe it cannot replace the intimacy and permanence of a hand-written note, card or letter.

We also state that we don't believe it's up to our government to save the postal service, it's up to the people of the United States to make a conscious effort to help out this beloved historical institution.

There in, we pledge to do the following:

1. Mail at least 1 non-essential letter, birthday-type card (or 2 postcards) a month.This will not only help out the post office, it will help thousands rediscover the joys of actually receiving something in the mail besides advertisements and bills. We also pledge to encourage others to do the same.

2. Promote as well as re-discover for ourselves and our younger relatives the simple joy of stamp collecting. No matter what you are interested in, stamp collecting can supplement that by buying stamps with that theme.

We do pledge to the above and anything we can do to help save our beloved Postal System.
