We would like to request the Government of Manipur to review their decision to locate the proposed National Institute of Technology in Imphal District, Manipur, India, and instead locate it in the Churachandpur District, Manipur. Our reasons are:
1. The local population in the proposed site has opposed the location and they do not want the Institute to be located there.
2. We do not have any problem with the Institute being located in our district, in fact,we will welcome it with open arms, as it would indirectly lead to the much required all round development of this neglected part of the state.
3. If the Govt of Manipur decides to go ahead with the proposed site, the hill population of the state will feel further alienated.
