World, (mostly USA) Abolish the Death Penalty! No More Killings!

Cafeneaua Politica (european non-profit organisation) Encourage Worldwide Abolition of death penalty

The death penalty is the ultimate, irreversible denial of human rights. By working towards the abolition of the death penalty worldwide, Cafeneaua Politica (Romanian / European non profit organization) starts today the Program Abolish the Death Penalty in the World, looking to end the cycle of violence created by a system riddled with economic and racial bias and tainted by human error. The program its addressed to worldwide states and institutions that may be concern about this matter (mostly to USA like the only superpower in charge, and like one of the biggest countries which not agreed abolish of death penalty yet).

Capital punishment is a barbaric remnant of uncivilized society. It is immoral in principle, and unfair and discriminatory in practice. As a remedy for crime, it has no purpose and no effect. Capital punishment ought to be abolished now. Death penalty laws falsely convince the world public that governments have taken effective measures to combat crime and homicide. In reality, such laws do nothing to protect human society or our communities from the acts of dangerous criminals.

Certainly, in general, the punishment should fit the crime. But in civilized society, we reject the "eye for an eye" principle of literally doing to criminals what they do to their victims: The penalty for rape cannot be rape, or for arson, the burning down of the arsonist's house. We should not, therefore, punish the murderer with death. When the governments metes out vengeance disguised as justice, it becomes complicit with killers in devaluing human life.

At the dawn of the 21st century, the death penalty is considered by most civilized nations as a cruel and inhuman punishment. It has been abolished de jure or de facto by 106 nations, 30 countries have abolished it since 1990. However, the death penalty continues to be commonly applied in a very few nations like the United States, China, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq and Iran which also are the most prolific executioners in the world.

From Cain and Abel (Bible/Old Testament/Genesis 4:11-15) until present times crime versus punishment relationship increased such as spiral of terror, never ending and never offering a right answer or solutions for human society.

"The death penalty is no more effective a deterrent than life imprisonment... It is also evident that the burden of capital punishment falls upon the poor, the ignorant and the underprivileged members of society."
- United States Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall.

In the United States (and China, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Iraq, Iran), the death penalty is often promoted as a way to deter violence and make society safer. Around the world, the death penalty is a tool of political repression and a means to forever silence political opponents or eliminate politically "troublesome" individuals. In most such cases, the victims are sentenced to death after grossly unfair trials so the death penalty is arbitrary and unfair(!). Yet scientific studies have consistently failed to find convincing evidence that executions deter crime more effectively than alternative sentences.

In conclusion the death penalty is the ultimate cruel, inhuman and degrading punishment and only serves to create more victims and perpetuate a cycle of violence. It violates the right to life. It is irrevocable and can be inflicted on the innocent. It has never been shown to deter crime more effectively than other punishments.

Stop killings in the name of democracy, freedom and civil rights! We are not gods (in Latin: absolutum dominium) to be in rights to give or to take out lives
Death punishment must be eradicated beginning today!
