2012 British Football Team - Scotland Says No!

The Scottish Football Association have made it clear, Scotlands Football fans have made it clear and so have the Scottish Government Scotland does not wish to be part of a British Football team at the 2012 London Olympics. However, it seems that the opinions of the SFA, the Scottish Football fan and Scotlands elected Government count for nothing. Instead we have Lord Coe defiantly telling us that there will be a British Football Team and now he has the official backing of Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Desperate to save his political bacon down south by proving that he is more British than Scottish, Mr Brown is now putting public pressure on Sir Alex Fergusson to manage the 2012 team. And this is after Sir Alex has already said no. Make no mistake, this is modern day English imperialism, completely rail-roading and having contempt for Scottish opinion. This issue is bigger than football and Lord Coe and Mr Brown have foolishly overlooked how important football is to Scotlands sense of separate identity. We will not give that up just to advance the personal ambitions of Lord Coe and Mr Brown, neither will we be bullied. Accordingly, we the undersigned hereby ask Lord Coe and Mr Brown to respect the wishes of the people of Scotland and accept once and for all that we will not be part of a British Football team at the 2012 London Olympics.
