A Declaration of War against Media Piracy.

We, the people of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh, living abroad in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Spain, Italy, Malaysia, France, and Dubai have realized the importance to protect our media industry from piracy. We urge the member of the National Parliament to find a solution to this problem. We must identify the rogue businesses and confiscate their illegally earned wealth and property.

It is quite unfortunate but true, Bangladeshi Music and Movie industry is in such a corrupted condition, specially in the distribution sector, that the notorious pirates themselves are the owners of the well known big companies.

Except for a few loyal to public and music companies, the rest intentionally produce faulty discs, use cheap quality discs for production, and sell it for the price of a quality disk, to rip the maximum profit. In most cases they totally deprive the artists. They steal and publish songs from innocent artists and release them without notice and proper documentations. Will there be no end to this? Should the governments and public remain worthless in this struggle? We demand a thorough investigation, and punish whoever is responsible for this abomination.

More sadly, most of the Bangladeshi convenient store owners, grocery owners, audio video sales store owners abroad are openly selling pirated discs. Fact of the matter is, they actually have computer machines and disc duplicators of their own. They simply collect one original copy and then duplicates to sell.

We are deeply sorry for the sufferings and losses this "evil process of greed" has given to the artists of Bangladesh. We want the artists of Bangladesh, and of all world for this case, to know that we appreciate their inspirations and gifts to us. We would strive to give you its proper value.

We will not buy pirated disks any more. We will insist others to buy the original disks. And we also appeal to the governments, "Please establish bar codes and sales receipt system in your countries. Surely the technology is available & affordable. Establish proper web policing, and save our children from illegal pornographic sites. Stop illegal downloading. Give the Artists their proper evaluations."

Today we sign this petition as a declaration of A War against Media Piracy and Its Originators & Sustainers" in the hope of a fairer world, fairer industry.

We sign this petition as we take this honest oath, that from now on, We shall never buy pirated disks, We shall complain and protest about illegal websites to the proper authorities, if we ever come across one website as such, we MUST report them to the proper authorities. We MUST be vigilant, and a more responsible society as a whole.
