A Plea to the Creators of Diablo 3

Many Diablo fans are quite upset by Blizzard's recent actions. The choice to expressly prohibit modifications, the lack of LAN and offline single-player, and the full endorsement of the auction system.
We, the fans, realize that some of these decisions are made in the interest of making the game better; however, there is no reasonable explanation for all of them regarding how they will improve the players' experiences rather than limit them. Most notably is the choice to have no offline function, even though it would be possible to relegate players to offline-exclusive characters to prevent cheating.
Any measure Blizzard takes to prevent cheating would be to enhance the experience of those who play fair. However, recent decisions show Blizzard is trying to curb cheating at the expense of players who enjoy Diablo fairly. We believe this is a sharp contradiction to Blizzard's past attitude towards its fans and therefore reflects a decline in quality.
So what exactly do we demand? This petition demands nothing specific. However, the fans would like Blizzard to give a concrete recognition of our pains. How they choose to respond and alleviate some of the problems is up to Blizzard. It will be the fans who decide whether the change is adequate to reflect that Blizzard has decided to listened to them.
I know many (myself) will not buy Diablo 3 if the game is currently released as described, so we are desperately hoping a change is made; if not directly to the game, than to the way Blizzard incorporates fan feedback.

As a long time customer, i am VERY disappointed. Some of these decisions are just based on greed. Video games are an ART! shame on you blizzard for treating it as another bloated cash cow, you might as well be an oil company.
