Rap Music has put a whole new meaning to the phrase being black. Unfortunately, because of slavery and the support of prehistoric discrimination laws, the black male and female had a difficult time adjusting to mainstream culture. If you don't believe me, just visit any local prison system today. Rap music continues to paint a picture of the black male as being this tough, hardcore, hatred filled, unruly, thug trying to make it in mainstream culture. Those rap artists that have made it will not let you not know it. Big rims painted on flashy cars with flashy girls all is an effect of slavery that is still instilled in the minds of many black rap artists today. They feel that in order to be real citizens or real men and women, they must own this plethera of wealth that the rest of majority rich America has. This slave mentality is neither becoming nor helpful to those blacks who are trying to live decent lives that reflect a nature of love, joy, peace, longsuffering, meekness, power under control, gentlness and charity, attributes that are God given from the Holy spirit. Therefore, Christians must stand together against this diabolic philosophy that has plagued the black community for many years.
