Here are the reasons:
1) Cutscenes take you out of the game.
2) They limit replayability (who wants to go through a game crippled by mediocre cutscenes again?)
3) Designers lose focus of their game.
4) They break the flow of the game: Level - Cutscene - Level - Cutscene
5) Cutscenes hold the game together like a cruch, remove the cruch and the game falls appart.
6) Instead of continuity we get disruption. Continuity is neccessary for a believable world.
7) You get a movie interrupted by gameplay or you get gameplay interrupted by a movie.
8) Companys spend a lot of money in cinematics instead of creating better AI, Level-Design...
9) Videogame companys use cutscenes in order to limit replayability. Replayability is not desired by those companys.
10) Cutscenes are not a creative way to tell a story.
11) Cutscenes copycat movies, they never invent their own visual language.
12) Too many game missions end up to be fillers between 2 cutscenes
