Anti Reservation, 2006

We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned about the disturbing trend of using reservation as a tool of caste politics by the political parties in power at center and state levels to target a particular vote bank.
Reservation though an effective tool should be used with prudence and not as an instrument to rake in votes.
In the wake of recent unfold of events the most disturbing and disgusting event is the bill brought to Lok Sabha.. With this we can see the sunset of brand India. The IIT's, IIM's AIIMS, various premier institutes under Delhi University and other central government institute graduates are treated with utmost respect India or abroad. That would cease to happen if the 27\% reservation for OBC classs bill is made effective.
The government should help the "Backward" classes to play at the same level. Leveling a field doesn't mean spoiling the game. Time now to make our voice heard; fall on the deaf ears, shame on our politicians who make us sound like Bhagat Singh even when we are "FREE". Its a request to all to take the responsibility and walk the road...not for your forefathers, not for yourself...but for the generation that awaits.
We urge the Government of India to reconsider its decision to increase the quota in Central Government Institutes.
We urge the Government of India to re evaluate the efficacy of reservation as a tool of social justice and equality.
We urge the political parties to help the backward classes rise to the level of competition instead of lowering the bar itself.
We urge the authorities to ensure that the brand and quality of education never be compromised.
We appeal to the citizens of the county to play a proactive role in the society by coming forward and taking the responsibility.
