Think it's about time the Houston Texans make the playoffs? Had enough of that California long-hair throwing inexplicable interception after interception? This is your chance to make that happen. Let your voice be heard! It's time for the Texans to bench David Carr and make progress in the right direction. So what he was the team's first ever draft pick? So what his face is all over Houston billboards and advertisements? So what he's a city icon? The guy isn't the mayor or a Gucci model, he is the quarterback of our football team. And he sucks. Badly. Enough of the excuses about the team's offensive line, skill position players, etc., etc. David Carr simply does not get the job done. He is the team's problem and until the Texans' brass realizes this, saddles up, and replaces him, the team will continue to exist in mediocrity. The team's management is so committed to winning under Carr that they will not replace him until it is too late. Remember, Charlie Casserley is the same guy who drafted "can't miss" Heath Shuler with the #3 overall pick for the Redskins. He and Dom Capers tagged Carr over Julius Peppers as the team's first ever draft pick and subsequently as the face of the franchise. His success dually controls theirs and it is not hard to see why an underperforming quarterback is given opportunity after opportunity to succeed. Carr may have all of the physical tools that a prototype NFL quarterback is expected to possess, but then again, so did Ryan Leaf. David Carr simply does not have the "it" factor, the swagger and headiness of a Tom Brady, that is necessary to lead a winning NFL team. On the other hand, Dave Ragone just finished the summer as NFL Europe's Offensive MVP and led his Berlin Thunder to the brink of a championship. As well, Ragone continually outshined and outperformed Carr in the Texans' preseason games. Here's saying that it was not a coincidence. It's time for the Texans to win, it's time to make a change. Let's end the David Carr era for the Houston Texans and hand the reigns over to someone who has the potential to be a winner.
