Better Education Standards in California

The level of education (especially Math and Science) that is taught in the schools in California is much lower than what it is in India. For instance, a math concept taught here in the 7th grade, is taught in India in the 3rd or 4th grade. I firmly believe that Math and Science sharpen the brain, the intellect and ability to think analytically and logically, and therefore the standard of math and science to the least, should be improved.

I believe that there are currently two programs underway to improve the standard - the Math and Science Partnership (MSP) program and the Mathematics Summit. I have researched these programs and I am still doubtful as to whether these programs will reach the level of education that I have received.

I recommend that the Department of Education should either adopt, or create a curriculum that is very similar to the ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education) education system followed in India.
