Big Brothers Inconsistency in dealing with Bigotry

This was shameful behaviour not just from Charley, who said the offensive words but all the others who chose to do and say nothing about it.
This to my mind is a clear example of double standards, as I say not just in the BB house but in society generally. This is a perfect example of the state of vicious homophobia that is still tolerated within society today. Its even more marked that Channel 4 is showing a feature drama to mark the 40th anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality immediately after the show.
Its not just the BB house which shows itself to be hypocritical and selective in what is deemed illegal and offensive. Until the majority of society react in a consistent manner where hatred and bigotry is dealt with equally, you will always have the Charleys of the world feeling they have the freedom to spout their bigotry, yet be so eager to react when they themselves are victims of similar bigotry.
To parallel the offensiveness, what Emily, in a previous episode of Big Brother said in friendship to Charley, seeking to be accepted as a friend, was clear grounds for her to be removed from the house, yet what Charley said in anger and bigotry is only to be monitored by BB.
Whether BB was right to evict Emily or not. They were morally bound to respond in a similar way to Charley. However, it seems its obviously still acceptable to be homophobic and equate Gay men with Paedophilia.
