Komarek School has just decided to take away recess for grades K-8. This is a decision that many parents and students are against. The younger children at the school need time during the day to release their energy, and they now cant do that. The older students will be in high school soon, and should be able to enjoy a recess they will soon no longer have. The schools own website says one of their missions is to foster positive physical, mental, and emotional health, and are doing just the opposite of that by taking away recess. The school is going to allow students to choose to go outside during the half hour lunch, but that will just make them rush their eating and leave them hungry the rest of the day. Komarek has always been a great school, but many people in the community are changing their attitudes about it because of this decision. Please help us get recess back to Komarek by signing this petition.

Kids require unstructured play time for their emotional and social growth and well-being. Giving kids an option to rush thru their lunches in exchange for recess is an unhealthy option.
