With a population of 105,687 Bridgwater Somerset has NO swimming facilities. The council decided to demolished the only pool the town had in order to sell the land to a supermarket chain.
Our children have nowhere to learn to swim, nowhere to exercise and our disabled population, that relied heavily on the pool for to keep fit, have been left with no alternative forms of exercise.
More and more houses are being built but the amenities to support this growing population is being ignored. Bridgwater already has very little in the form of recreational venues and another supermarket is not needed.
Stand up to the council, don't let them decide what goes in our town, we pay our poll-tax and their wages so they work for us and therefore should listen to what WE want!
Bridgwater is turning into a ghost town, look around at all the empty shops, they simply can't compete with the big supermarkets. We DON'T need another supermarket! We need a swimming pool to put some fun back into Bridgwater!!
