Two times the City of Burleson has had public skate parks that have been closed down for various reasons. As members of the skateboarding community we would like to see this service once again provided by the City.
The City of Burleson is more than willing to provide other sporting facilities for other sports and their participants, but when it comes to skateboarders their needs get marginalized and pushed to the back burner.
We believe this is due to the fact that both previous endeavors where not planned well and badly managed allowing for an environment that is less than desirable for the community or the persons who utilized the park.
Constructing a quality park is a lengthy task but can be rewarding for the citizens, as well as, the City. We would just like the opportunity to present the facts and dispel some of the myths.
