I believe that Ashanti is well deserving of the Aretha Franklin Entertainer of the year award, and I believe that it is my duty as a fan to start a petition for her to continue to be honored. I believe that she should receive this award because of her achievements that she has had since her debut in April. The facts are Ashanti has been the only artist to have three top ten hits on the billboard since the Beetles, also she is the only artist to ever go gold in her debut release in one week, that includes anyone from Whitney, to Alicia, and also the reigning queen Mary J. Blige. She writes her own music, ghost write for well establish artist such as J.Lo and is also coming out with a book. I believe in the few months that Ashanti has been in the business she has made a huge impact on the music industry and is well deserving of this award.
