This petition is to raise awareness that Primary School Children in Cambuslang and Rutherglen are missing out due to not having a suitable Football Pitch.
A league has been running for 8 years and it could be bigger and better if we had local pitches for our Schools.
This league is the only activity that keeps our local schools linked together.
Other SLC areas have great facilities so why not us? SLC previously advised all current pitches would be upgraded - instead they have been removed!
Our children should not have to travel to East Kilbride and Glasgow.
Mugas are too small and slippy for 7 aside football, Cathkin have a pitch which needs work done and has to be maintained, Fernhill is not on School grounds and transport is an issue, a Public Park is not an option with Health and Safety etc.
