1) Statements made by various members of the Conservative caucus to the effect that the Hon. Ralph Goodale or members of his staff had leaked a government announcement related to the treatment of income trusts. Conservative attack ads that were aired in February of 2007 in Quebec made similar statements about this issue. [The RCMP investigation has subsequently cleared Mr. Goodale and his staff of any wrongdoing related to that issue]
2) A Press release issued by the Conservative party about the Hon. Dan McTeague that makes false claims about his responsibilities and duties while Parliamentary Assistant of Foreign Affairs. [The Conservative government knew that Mr. McTeague was responsible for certain files during and even after the 2006 election]
3) A recent news article speculated about the connections between MP Navdeep Bains's family and the Air India investigation. Stephen Harper accused the MP of impropriety with regards to his position on the Anti Terrorism measures extension based on this. This comment made by a sitting Prime Minister in the House of Commons about an MP are inappropriate and violate the rules of conduct in the House.
For these statements, comments and actions we demand an apology to the Hon. Navdeep Bains, the Hon. Ralph Goodale and the Hon. Dan McTeague by the Prime Minister, The Right Hon. Stephen Harper.
