In light of strained racial relationships between black and white, black and black, black and everyone else-it has been deemed highly offensive, and objectionable that Nas aka "prolific," "prophetic," and "genius" as quoted by L.A. Reid, would want to release an album inappropriately entitled "N***er*. The ignorance that continues to be churned out of Def Jam Recordings, befuddles the human mind.

L.A. Reid is quoted as saying "as far as he's concerned, Nas can do no wrong." Apparently, something is wrong with L.A. Reid,Nas and any other entity of Def Jam Recordings who assimilate themselves with these actions and thinking.

Because record companies and recording artists alike are notorious for buffoonerish antics, tactics and behavior in order to generate publicity for impending CD releases, it is inconceivable to believe, naming an album "Ni***r" is the only way to create furor over an upcoming CD.

According to www.eurweb.com, Nas is on record as saying (in reference to older people who don't know him)"Stay outta this (expletive) conversation. We'll talk to you when we're ready. Right now, we're on a whole new movement We're taking power from that word." A whole new movement? A movement on the level of Jena 6, perhaps? Of course not.

Nas, L.A. Reid, and Def Jam Recordings' blatant disregard towards the feelings of the public who are offended by tne N-word in and of itself, by proceeding to name the CD after one of the worse epithets known to man, should not be taken lightly. It is in two words, irresponsible & callous. You don't take "power from" a word, by showcasing it on a cd cover, which in turn will have TO BE PROMOTED during promotional tours. How is that taking power away? It is instead, adding propane to an already roaring, crackling fire.

It is asked that this petition is signed in protest of Nasir Jones' impending album, N***er or N***a, which is tentatively scheduled for release on December 11, 2007. This is in the hopes that Nas, L.A. Reid or anyone in a decision-making capacity at Def Jam Recordings, will reconsider and choose a more aptly titled name for the album.
