Cutting The Pay and Benefits of Elected Officials State and Federal

We the people of the United States have concerns over the pay and benefits received by all elected officials request the following:

1) Recognize that we the people vote you into office, and that you should not be allowed any type of raise or benefit without prior approval by we the people.

2) Recognize that while cutting costs in so many area's of the budget should include all elected officials at the State and Federal levels. Set an example by leading with example.

3) Recognize and place a 5 year freeze on all raises of said elected officials, cut yearly pay by 30\%, pay premiums and deductibles for your own health care coverage, set a term limit for every elected position, cancel every retirement benefit being received by any elected official or their spouse/family/relative.

4) Recognize that person's wanting to run for public office via the people's vote is a voluntary position and should not be recognized as a channel to use for retirement. Elected officials volunteered to help the people of the United States, therefore should not have the ability for retirement from said position.
