OUR TARGET:
For Dr. Karl to give 45minutes of his time to answering questions from young people, during OzGreen's Youth Leading the World Congress November 27th-29th.
Youth will ask about science careers and ideas that help the environment and develop sustainable living. We would like Dr Karl to skype to FOUR congress - three in Australia and one overseas.
OUR MISSION:
Be engaged, be passionate, be bold! Help support OzGreen's International Youth Leading the World (YLW) Congress this November 27th-29th, held in over 50 locations simultaneously.
OzGreen is focused on youth education and leadership in environmental issues, as they relate to real people. For example: drought and food security, pollution and water quality in drinking water. OzGreen promotes a holistic view while supporting youth to find - and follow! - their own particular interests and passions.
OzGreen has won numerous awards, including the Eureka Prize, Banksia Awards, UN Media Peace Awards and Best Practice Case Study for the Australian Association for Environmental Education (NSW).
So come sign our petition to bring Dr Karl to inspire young leaders in sustainable and ethical living - and how science education can be the key!

CURIOUS? HERE'S MORE INFO:
The non-profit group, OzGreen Australia tackles today's pressing environmental and social issues with a grass-roots community approach. Annually, they run YOUth LEADing the World (YLW) Congress. This year, in over 50 locations simultaneously around the world over November 27-29.
Meeting in different places at the same time means that thousands of young people can connect over global issues, without having to travel to just one location. We use modern digital media technology to link up with each other across time-zones and languages!
The focus of the OzGreen YLW Congress is sustainability; more specifically exploring the interaction between environmental and social issues. For example: when we discuss environmental pollution, we are also engaging with the problem of water quality - people's drinking water! Connecting with youth from other countries personalises global issues. Over three days participants
LEARN - about global issues in a straight forward and accessible way
DEVELOP IDEAS FOR CHANGE - discussing with other youth their opinions
CONNECT TO PUT THEM INTO ACTION - networking to make change
After the congress, we want our participants to consider what they can do to become leaders in living sustainability and ethically.
Dr. Karl is a well known science educator with an infectious passion for learning. He can help us by promoting education and careers in the sciences to young people. After all, scientists play a key role in defining the problems we face and also in creating the solutions!
So we would love Dr. Karl to bring his infectious enthusiasm, great knowledge and celebrity status to further engage our young participants to think ahead and consider careers in science, as one way to follow their passions.

This initiative is by volunteer OzGreen facilitator, Vanessa Moskal. She is based in Sydney. Passionate about education, Vanessa has met Dr Karl on a number of occasions, the first being at the Sydney University Gifted and Talented Discovery Program, when she was just 16 years old. Since then, she was selected to represent Australia at the Children's Summit in Hokkaido, Japan, and participated in the National Youth Science Forum in Canberra. Vanessa now studies a Bachelor of Political Economic and Social Sciences at Sydney University and continues to be inspired by the young people that come through the annual OzGreen YLW Congress.
