Ethical investment policy for Robinson College

Cambridge University Student Union is running a campaign for a Socially Responsible Investment Policy. This calls for investment which takes into account the Universitys position as an educational institution. They ask for the University to introduce a policy that excludes investments which
Commit human rights abuses;
Knowingly provide resources to those who will use them to commit human rights abuses;
Manufacture torture equipment;
Fail to uphold basic labour rights including the right to form a Union;
Give vocal, economic or diplomatic support to a regime enabling it to continue to commit human rights abuses
We, the undersigned, would like Robinson College to invest its money ethically as part of this university-wide campaign. As Robinson College does not invest directly, we would support a switch to an alternative tracker fund which takes ethical considerations into account.
As future alumni we would be more likely to donate to the college if we were assured that our money would be invested in an ethical way.
We would like a box included on the alumni donation form that specifies the donor wants the money invested ethically.
We feel that an ethical investment policy would be in keeping with Robinsons position as greenest college. It would be more likely to attract prospective students to apply and would reflect our core values as an educational institution.
