FremantleMedia Petition

FremantleMedia, owners of American Idol and other Idol franchises around the world, seeks to terminate Google Idol and its activites. Gidol was launched on March 1st, 2006 as an exclusive online competition for amateur lip-syncers performing professional songs. Since its inception, the site has received massive international accolade and has grown to become a thriving community of talented film-makers from all corners of the globe. While they still run regular competitions for amateur music performers, the site is expanding to encompass all genres of film and is fast becoming a mecca of Internet Video entertainment. The recent hostile advances of FremantleMedia theaten to put an end to this phenomenon. As supporters of Google Idol, we cannot let this occur. Therefore we, the undersigned, are collectively calling for FremantleMedia to cease and desist its aforementioned effots to shut down Google Idol and it to resume its activites, free from further such corporate intervention.
