Gay Parents Adopting Rights

Everyday in America thousands of children are enrolled into foster care. The causes for these terrible cases are such as child abuse, verbally, physically, and emotionally. Sometimes it is because of the carelessness of young teenagers not being able to care for the infants they have brought into this world, other reasons are because of the hate people bestowed upon children.
In any case such cases like these aren't so bad when you think of all the gay and lesbian couples willing to adopt one of these beautiful children. There is one problem that lingers in America; its a recent law that defines stupidity with strong meaning. A new law which is vastly taking over America's cities and states. One story, which has been made national with the help of Rosie ODonnell, struck me to make this contribution the best way I know how.

To summarize a story I heard would be to say this. A young boy named Bert Lofton who lives in the state of Florida is with the only family he knows. In a family of 5 children and 2 parents who are gay. Roger and Steve, also known to their children as Dad and Rodge. All kids are tested positive to AIDS, except recently Bert, who until just recently is suffering with the law of no kids being allowed to be adopted by gay/ lesbian parents. The state is currently trying to find a new family for Bert. Meanwhile in the state of Florida alone there are well over 3,000 children who are in foster homes. Waiting for people to adopt them.

What justice does it bring to the children, and to the gay/ lesbian couples? Thousands of children are waiting to be adopted, but yet the state is focusing to find a NEW home for a child who is already happily adopted by 2 loving people. Wouldnt it be better to focus on the children who are still waiting not knowing what their future holds for them? Why take a child from the only home hes known his whole life just because his parents are gay?

Personally this story disturbs me, and with what little help I can get Im sure, the family of this child and many other families with this same issue, would be happy to know that there are many people who care. Already there are people taking action to this ridiculous excuse of a law. With your help, the more who show their concern the better.

681. Eric W | The kid is being loved and wanted by a couple. It doesn't matter if they are gay or not. As long as they can show their kid love and the kid is being loved. That is the most important thing for the kid.

679. Gaary Lkleynenj | My partner John and I are one of those willing gay couples yet the ignorance that flows through this state's govt. keeps us from helping a child in need of a loving home. I guess "Ignorance really is bliss" the FL. state govt. seems happy.
